Infinity Surf Signs Chris “Chill” Hill to surf and race team
  • 465382_10150816137971526_1031111498_oInfinity Surf has just landed another top tier surfer and elite racer.  This time they went east.  Chris Hill, or “Chill” as his friends know him, is a very popular figure on the eastern coast of the U.S.  He has been winning surf competitions in North Carolina and other other Eastern states for years.  He was also one of the pioneers of SUP Racing on the east coast, winning several big events.  In addition to all of this, he is one of our former “Gladiator of the Month” recipients.

He has been representing Joe Bark and Surftech for as long as I have known him, and has always been a big supporter of their products.  He has even had a hand in helping develop some of the design philosophy that has gone into Joe’s new “Big Guy” boards.

Given the good history of this relationship, news of him moving on and joining Team Infinity (or really any other team for that matter) caught me a bit by surprise.  This is what Chris had to say about the move:

“I don’t like to look at it as me leaving Bark/Surftech.  Its really more about me embracing my first love of Surfing”  “While I have been a competitive racer over the years, and even won some races along the way, Surfing is where my heart is at.  It is really what I am most passionate about.  This opportunity with Infinity, is really about embracing that, and joining Steve Boehne, and his sons Dave, and Dan.  You won’t find a more stoked family of surfers anywhere.  They are constantly finding new ways to refine their designs and push the sport  even further.  When this opportunity presented itself, I jumped at the chance to join their team.  I want to be a part of what they are doing, and help in any way I can.  The only downside is obviously moving on from Team Bark/Surftech.  I have made some great friends at both companies, and will miss being a part of their team.  In the end though, I decided to follow my heart and get back to what makes me happiest; Surfing”

“In addition to surfing for Infinity, I will also be on their race team, primarily racing in the 14’ class.  I have been looking forward to meeting with Dave and Slater to discuss a race board that will work for me.  Infinity has 3 different models (Ocean, Dart, Slater) to choose from and I am looking forward to getting one dialed in for my needs.  All things considered, I couldn’t be happier about this opportunity.”

Here is a little video we put together a year or so ago when we announced Chris as our Gladiator of the Month.
